The Blue Zebra Story

The Blue Zebra story began many years ago, when its founder Reagan Balozi was a street artist in Moshi, Tanzania. For as long as he could remember, he had envisioned a community art store where his fellow artists could come together and showcase their works in a professional setting. He walked the streets for many years selling his paintings and saving his earnings for the future store he dreamt of, until finally in 2010 he opened the doors of his first small gallery. It was filled with love and exceptional art, but could only hold about 8 customers at a time. And that was a squeeze!

Through hard work, determination and a commitment to uplifting his community, that beautiful store grew into the many impressive stores you see today throughout Tanzania, that showcase the art of many African artists.

Reagan’s story

Reagan always wanted to be successful, yet he never wanted to be successful alone. He wanted his community to rise up right alongside him and by using his compassion, drive and humble nature, Blue Zebra became everything he dreamt it would be.
